Chantal Fischzang is a designer and educator based in NY/NJ. Her research and practice serve a range of multidisciplinary projects focused on design for social impact and her capabilities range from brand identity, print, publication, exhibition, interactive and environmental design.
As part of her role as Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Rutgers University-Newark, Chantal bridges the classroom and community, collaborating with & developing initiatives that speak to current social issues, and how public art and design can catalyze discourse and prompt change.
As an educator, Chantal integrates publicly engaged practice and design education through her work at Express Newark, as Co-Director of Visual Means and Design Consortium, two academic programs that center on cooperative learning and community building, and model a design-studio working experience in which faculty, students, researchers and community partners engage in a collaborative design process to create impact in the city of Newark.
